Naifa is a lawyer and partner at QVL bringing extensive experience in tax law, litigation, and regulatory compliance. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Shari’ah and Law from the Maldives National University, where she built a strong academic foundation in both Shari’ah principles and modern legal frameworks.
With over nine years of distinguished service at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), Naifa has played a key role in shaping tax administration and legal enforcement in the Maldives. During her tenure, she represented MIRA before courts and tribunals, handling a wide portfolio of complex tax disputes, recovery cases, and regulatory matters. She has led and supported litigation strategies, drafted legal submissions, and provided legal opinions on statutory interpretation and legislative amendments.
In addition to litigation, Naifa worked extensively on debt recovery, employment law matters, and internal advisory work, including drafting legal documents, refining regulatory frameworks, and contributing to staff training and capacity building across the authority.
Before joining QVL, Naifa served as an Associate at S&A Lawyers LLP, where she gained further experience in dispute resolution and litigation, refining her advocacy and advisory skills in private practice.
