On 2 January 2024, the Occupational Safety and Health Act (Law No. 2/2024) was ratified, establishing a comprehensive legal framework for workplace health and safety in the Maldives. The Act is complemented by the Occupational Safety and Health Regulation (No. 2024/R-103), which sets out detailed requirements for employers, employees, workplace operators, and other stakeholders.
