Aas Abdulla FCCA is a Partner at QVL, bringing extensive experience in tax investigations, intelligence, forensic analysis, and regulatory enforcement. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. Aas also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ballarat, Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK.

Aas’s career spans senior leadership roles across major regulatory institutions in the Maldives, giving him unparalleled insight into tax administration, investigative frameworks, and compliance enforcement. He spent over four years at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) as Director of the Investigation & Intelligence Department, where he led complex tax audits, intelligence operations, and high-stakes investigations into non-compliance and revenue leakages.

Prior to his work at MIRA, Aas served as Chief Customs Officer at Maldives Customs Service, where he was Deputy Head of the Post Clearance Audit Section. In this role, he oversaw customs audit operations, risk assessments, and compliance reviews, strengthening border revenue protection and post-import verification procedures.

In 2018, Aas was appointed by the President as one of the five members of the Presidential Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery, where he contributed to national-level investigations, asset tracing, and anti-corruption initiatives. His tenure in the Commission underscored his expertise in forensic analysis, investigative strategy, and high-integrity public service. He resigned in 2020 to join QVL.

Aas is highly regarded for his investigative acumen, analytical discipline, and ability to navigate complex regulatory and enforcement environments. His diverse experience across tax, customs, and national anti-corruption work positions him as a key strategic asset within QVL.
